Gefangen Self Reflections 1551 About  CV

Ongoing photographic project, 2025–

Rootless is an ongoing photo project about longing, belonging, and the quiet search for home. I grew up in Berlin and spent my teenage years and early adulthood in Molde—a place I couldn’t wait to leave. Now, years later, I’ve moved back. But nothing feels clear. This project began as a continuation of 1551, where I explored themes of identity and place. Toward the end of that process, I started to feel a deeper pull toward my Norwegian roots. Rootless is about listening to that pull—and questioning it. Even though I’m back, I feel more rootless than ever. Through this work, I’m trying to understand if it’s possible to grow new roots in a place that once felt like it was holding me back. Can I make this place home again? Or was it never really home to begin with?
