1551 signifies the distance between the artists childhood home in Berlin and the location where she grew up on the West Coast of Norway. Relocating at 6, her quest to uncover her Norwegian identity began. A journey that had a lasting impact on the development of her identity, both in the moment and for the future. Through the eyes of a six-year-old, the world was already vast, but now it seemed even larger—a profound experience that left deep impressions, shaping her perspective to always include a retrospective gaze. Now, at 26, an intense longing drives her to rediscover her German roots. This project commences her visual narrative, a journey of self-discovery.
